About MyselfHello, my name is Kanaha Shoji. I am a PhD candidate at EPFL in civil engineering, working on walkability👟 in the cities. Before that, I was an environmental scientist & data analyst at Empa, Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology. With MSc in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from EPFL and BSc in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Tech, I am always looking for a way to utilize my knowledge and leadership skills to make a valuable contribution to the sustainable and environmentally friendly world.

Interests |
I always enjoy doing something new. That's why I like to travel, meet people, eat something new, and go on some adventures. I play the violin, and I like how music can bring people together.

Background |
I am originally from Japan. I was born and grew up there. Then, I went to the US for a university to put myself in a more diverse international environment. That experience made me want to explore other parts of the world and led me to Switzerland, where I did my Master’s. I am still here in Switzerland and currently in the middle of my PhD journey.
